Plate Load Tests

We are one of the leading service providers of plate load tests used to determine the load capacity of soil and likely settlement under a given load. The dynamic plate load test is used to determine the soil bearing capacity and compaction quality of soils and non-cohesive subbases, as well as for soil improvement applications. The test is conducted on-site and involves applying load to a steel plate, placed on the ground surface at the anticipated foundation level, with a hydraulic jack.

Our team interprets the load settlement curves obtained from the test and, following detailed analysis, can provide reliable ultimate capacity & stiffness parameters for shallow foundation Sufficient compaction of the tested subsoil can be determined immediately after the measurement. The subsurface layers of the subsoil to a thickness can be examined by plate load test. Deeper layers are controlled by placing plates in trial pits.
